Share a prayer request

“…pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of the righteous person is powerful and effective.”  –James 5:16

We invite you to share any prayer request with our prayer team.  Requests checked 'CONFIDENTIAL' will remain only with our Senior Pastor.  All other requests will be shared with our prayer team during their weekly prayer gathering.  These prayer warriors are committed to join alongside you in petition to our Lord.  Prayer is powerful and effective!

STATION 1.    PREPARING FOR THE JOURNEY

As you begin your walk of prayer, pick a rock out of the beautiful birdbath that will have the theme for your journey with Jesus on it.

Relax on the wrought iron bench as you meditate about your walk and enjoy your time with Him.  Prayerfully center yourself in this moment. What do you see?  What do you hear?  All of creation cries out in praise and worship of our Living God!

"Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is humankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?"
                                                                              (Psalm 8: 1, 3-4)

STATION 2. RESURRECTION

Your journey takes you down the steps and around the rock formations to a small alcove beneath the Cross of Jesus.  Come rest
in this secluded alcove and reflect upon our Living Lord.  Look up to your right and give thanks for the New Life that is offered to us all freely and completely because of that old rugged cross.

Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life.  Whoever believes
in me will live, even though they die." (John 11:25)
". . . Because I live you shall live also."  (John 14:19)

STATION 3. CONTEMPLATION

New life is found because of the Cross of Jesus.  As you continue in your walk,                     contemplate the many ways that God speaks into your life.  From prophets to angels      to that still small voice, God speaks life into us if we will listen for God's Word.                  Linger here a moment longer:  What might God be speaking to you today?

"Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that               you have not known." (Jeremiah 33:3)

STATION 4.  WILDERNESS

The people of God walked in the wilderness and learned to trust God for all their daily needs.  Jesus walked in the wilderness and endured a time of testing, temptation, and discernment.

Use this time to consider the wilderness areas of your life - - - those places of testing, temptation, and discernment.  It is in the wilderness of life that we are reminded of God's strength given where we feel weak.  What temptations are you facing?  Do you know God's strength?

"Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?  I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."  (Isaiah 43:19)

STATION 5.  DIRECTION

Where do Jesus' teachings challenge you?  How is God calling you to change and be transformed?  Cairns ---- that stack of rocks you just passed ---- have long been a
symbol for making a path.  Where do you sense God's direction in your life?  How
do you choose to live?

"Jesus went up on a mountain and began to teach them . . . "
(Matthew 5:1-2)

STATION 6. SACRED SPACES

Enter the circular area at the end of Station 5 to concentrate on the spiritual messages you were receiving during your walk.  Enjoy the relaxing benches, beautiful plants, and art work as you collect your thoughts.

In the teaching of Jesus we are given a model for how we are to live.  John Wesley, the founding father of Methodism, offered Three General Rules based on the teaching and model of Jesus that might help us find direction:

Do no harm
Do good.
Stay in Love with God!

"You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.  Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy."  (1 Peter 2: 9-10)

 STATION 7. FOLLOW ME

At Station 7, you will encounter the Ichthus sculpture, an important Christian symbol, which means "Jesus Christ, God's Son, Savior," with an inscription below for your final instructions.  Walk around the sculpture and you will notice the fish turns into a beautiful cross.

Head up to the steps, which will signify you're going out into the world with your message on your rock to share God's Word and become better Disciples of Christ.

We understand that the world is truly our parish.  Wherever the path may lead us, no matter how straight or crooked the road, we are called to follow the way of Christ.  Even more, we are called to point others to Christ.  How will you choose to live?

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
 (Matthew 28: 18-20)
