What is a pledge?

A pledge is an estimate of your giving for the coming year to help us fund all the ministries we do as a church - from paying our pastors and staff, missions, outreach, worship and education, and more.  Your pledge, your estimate of giving, can be adjusted at any time if your circumstances change.  Simply call or email our Financial Manager, Geri, to make any adjustments throughout the year.

Is pledging biblical?

Yes.  We recognize that God calls us to be responsible stewards of our lives and our resources, and we understand pledging in a scriptural perspective.  Your pledge is your response to God's abundance in our lives.  We are invited to share in the Kingdom work of God here on earth, and our pledges are vital in creating a realistic ministry budget for the coming year.

Do I have to pledge?

No, you do not have to pledge.  We have many faithful givers who choose not to pledge for a variety of reasons.  However, as we discern where we believe God is leading us in the coming year, our church can plan more responsibly with your pledge in mind.  We rely strongly on the generous support of all who call VUMC home.  Your financial support will impact countless ministries and lives with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How can I pledge?

You can make your pledge in one of three ways:

1.  Submit your pledge securely with our simple pledge form located on this page.

2.  You can pick up a paper pledge card at the church anytime, fill it in, and return to the church office.
